How to Support Our Program

Lutheran Social Services is a non-profit (501c3) organization. Gifts to LSS and its programs are fully tax deductible. Gifts of cash, .0checks, money orders, securities, and real estate are all greatly appreciated. Please forward to Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands , 516 Hospital Street , Frederiksted, VI 00840. Gifts made in honor or in memory can be acknowledged to whomever the donor designates.

Sponsor A Child

Remembering that "it all began with children," Lutheran Social Services and Queen Louise Home have created a special opportunity for support of the children in our care. A gift of $100 per month gives one child at the Home additional help to help him or her through a troubled past. At Queen Louise Home , Sponsor a Child gifts are used to help children to overcome learning disabilities, meet special health needs, and to enjoy childhood experiences. In-depth counseling, extended medical care, special education programs, summer and after school sports and youth camps are among those extras.

When you sponsor a child, you receive a quarterly report on that child's progress along with a recent photograph. Help make a difference in the life of a child by sponsoring a child.

Planned Giving and the Legacy Society

The ELCA Foundation works with individuals who wish to make planned gifts to LSS or its subsidiaries. These gifts are earmarked for the LSS endowment, perpetuating the gift and the donors are commemorated on a hand-carved mahogany giving tree located in the lobby of Queen Louise Home for Children. There is no charge for this service.

Matching Gifts

Each year since 1990, the St. Croix Avis and the Hess Foundation co-sponsor an annual effort with a $20,000 matching grant. For all contributions received during the campaign period, the Foundation provides a dollar for dollar match.
