When it opened in 1904, the original Queen Louise Home facility was located at 45 Strand Street in the town of Frederiksted on St. Croix . In 1967, the Home moved to its present location on five acres outside the town. Queen Louise is the only residential foster care home in the United States Virgin Islands. Queen Louise Home provides temporary placement in a family setting for children ages birth to 12 who have been the victims of abuse and neglect. It is staffed by full-time child care workers and by AmeriCorps Volunteers who serve as Cottage Parents, living with the children as surrogate parents. Services include:
